NewslettersWe’re BidAlert.com and we are here to help! When it comes to the “Construction Outlook”…Who’s the Authority?I can’t remember when I’ve ever read so many prognostications of what to expect in the US economy in general and construction here in the Southeast specifically. Everybody has jumped in with convincing scenarios based on reams of data and blessed by various industry pundits and economists. I’ve been involved in the construction industry in one form or another for 40 years. Through those years, I’ve come to believe that there are few reliable indicators of what is likely to happen over the short haul and virtually nothing you can hang your hat on for the mid- term. Long term we’ll do great; but, most of the people I talk to are much more interested in the here and now vs. ten years out. Another thing all the surveys and reports miss…macroeconomics, i.e. what is true of the whole is not necessarily true of the specific. Some of our readers, perhaps quite a few, will do better than others because they are willing to do more than the next guy, who is either too afraid, tied to conventional thinking and therefore inflexible, or not marketing oriented. As my Father always said; “marketing is a first among equals.” Without sales, there is no business. With these caveats as our bedrock, let’s see how we can make money together in the most interesting environment of our lifetime! There are a variety of ways that you can prosper in this environment. First, and foremost, following accurate reliable intelligence to point you in the right direction; that’s where we come in! Second, you need to be proactive and fearless in seeking out opportunities wherever they are, near or far. Lastly, you must have control of your costs; you need to know what everything costs you and ruthlessly chop costs that don’t help your bottom line. If you don’t, I assure you, a competitor will and he’ll eat your lunch. There is nowhere to hide on the issue of costs; you must be among the lowest cost providers of a needed service; that’s the minimum price of entry in today’s Brave New World. Hello World! We here at BidAlert.com are thrilled to tackle the challenges presented by the current construction market! We may be a new service to you, but we are an off-shoot of one of the most experienced and solid “warm lead” providers in the business having delivered the best research anywhere for almost two decades. BidAlert.com has a simple mission statement: “To bring our members the most actionable and often exclusive construction leads available anywhere, coupled with an extremely easy to use website and pricing that knocks those legacy information providers back on their high overhead, high public content, high cost heals.” We have no contracts, we don’t charge you for research on projects you have no interest in and we are private-sector only. That’s right, private-sector projects that are the toughest to find, but pay better, are shorter-fused and have less competition. Besides, why pay for public sector construction leads when you can get it for free? We can tell you what websites offer free information; just check our website under the Learn More tab. BidAlert.com is a web portal that will continually add content of interest to people who use commercial construction as an accurate predictor of business opportunities. Shortly we will be adding a reprographic section and several other valuable tools to the site to save you time and money. By making BidAlert.com your preferred portal we will become partners during a time of transition for many. Now a little explanation of how our system works. After years of observing how people search for leads, we’ve discovered that many people don’t consider themselves to be marketing savvy or simply don’t have the time and resources to do a thorough job of finding work in the most efficient manner. We started with a clean sheet of paper and designed the BidAlert.com system to work the way you said works best for you. We have created a bank of opportunities, mostly in the Pre-planning or Planning stage but many in the later stages as well. As a member, you can search anywhere in Georgia or Florida (four other states to be added this year at no additional cost) by a set of criteria that you choose and can even save for future use! Projects that you’d like to follow can either be tagged with Bid+ tags) or watched (WatchIt) and are then moved to your personal Workspace. Bid+ tags buy you the equivalent of having someone on your staff to run to ground leads of interest. We do it in a more effective way than any of our competitors! When you tag a project, we will assign the project to a Senior Reporter, send you a confirming email, update the project information within two business days and at least monthly, will check the status of the project through its disposition. Have a question, we are just an email or call away. We are going to break the mold with this service; you will know that the first time you actually communicate with one of our researchers! But there’s more! With the introduction of BidZaps (scheduled for April), you will have a low cost way to send out customized emails to the contacts of your choice, for projects of interest to you, either manually, or even automatically if you like. Just think of the time you will save by at last having someone call you instead of the other way around. Check out our free BidAlert.com Industry Directory (B.I.D.) – it is another way we will help you be more successful. With over 130,000 industry participants in the Southeast, make sure your listing is setting you apart. We expect usage of this directory to skyrocket as BidAlert.com becomes the dominant player in the business. Later, we’ll be offering you advertising opportunities, links and other means to attract Directory users to you. In the meantime, make sure you are in the Directory. If not, send us the details and we’ll insert you. We will update the Directory annually to keep it fresh. There’s far more that we will talk about in future postings, but right now all the folks that make it possible to deliver our material want to express their gratitude for visiting our site and considering becoming our partner. We exist to serve your needs. Let us know what you think, how we can improve and where you might like us to go next. In the meantime, let’s “Get to Work” and make some money! In the coming days and weeks ahead we hope that you come back to us from time to time as we explore some of the themes expressed in this launch blog. We’d love to hear from you as well. Tell us what is important to you and why. In the meantime, please act on BidAlert.com’s catchphrase…Get to Work! |
